Compilation of external resources. Websites, addons, farming, builds, content creators... (2024)

Hello! I did a big compilation, that I posted on reddit, but since it took some of time and research I thought that I might also post it here to reach more players:

................................................................... WEBSITES ...................................................................

Crafting buy list and steps, with direct buy price and craft price (and can calculate based on your owned materials). Account data, from selling items in the bank, exchanges, achievements and a lot more.

https://gw2efficiency.com/

Currency tracker. Check the history of value for exchanging gems to gold across time. Quickly see items prices raise and fall. Profit calculator for flipping. And some more.

https://www.gw2tp.com/

See what is most profitable to farm for all aspects of the game. From ores, to items, to currencies. World events, dungeons and even alt parking spots. And way more.

https://fast.farming-community.eu/

Simple to understand guides on what to buy, craft and discover to level up all crafting, with shopping list and step by step.

https://gw2crafts.net/

All-in-one website for farming, time events, trading post prices and quite some more.

https://www.peuresearchcenter.com/

Three websites dedicated to the trading post. Either for speculation, flipping, craft-sell and a ton more (be careful with this, double check everything before spending gold):

https://www.gw2bltc.com/

https://www.gw2craftgold.com/

https://www.gw2profits.com/

I HAVE to put the wiki here, but if you are playing GW2 you already know about it. Anyhow, ingame in the chat type /wiki and it will open up in your browser. Or additionally, type /wiki and shift click an item to go directly to the wiki page for that item.

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page

*EXTRA NOTE: to make full use of many of these websites and addons (in the next section), you should get your API key. Here's a 1:34min video on how to get that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FEHhiuVq_Y

*EXTRA TIP: not exactly a resource website (more used as build website, seen below), but it contains a ton of info that newer players may want to know about how to gear a character:

https://metabattle.com/wiki/Guide:How_to_Gear_a_Character

u/Yo_yo_tran suggested the following site: https://guildjen.com/ It contains a lot of explained guides for a lot of things, ranging from personal builds, to achievements to missions and other miscellanious stuff. Great site if you like written-image guides (for builds and some other content even videos)!

u/lorus85 suggested this site: http://gw.zweistein.cz/gw2stacks/ it needs the API key to work. It will serve to manage the inventory, telling what items to sell, craft into more profitable selling items or stack 250 resources. Also what to get rid of, an amazing tool for inventory management and cleanup!

................................................................... ADDONS ...................................................................

Addon Manager. More than anything, it's an "easy" installer for other addons. Once you execute the exe and locate your game folder, you can install things like ARCdps (and as an additional tick the integration to make it work with blishud), radial mount (plus blishud integration), d912pxy, and more.

https://github.com/gw2-addon-loader/GW2-Addon-Manager

The mother and father of all GW2 addons is Blishud. It "contains" other addons inside that you can choose to install in the repos, to add a lot more features (navigation point markers, mount wheel, instrument auto-play, account item search etc):

https://blishhud.com/

TACO. If you just want the navigation, and/or create your own routes, taco is what you need (remember, if you use blishud you already have taco's functionalities).

http://www.gw2taco.com/

*EXTRA NOTE: Blishud navigation accepts .taco files. The "All-in-one" pack is already inside Blishud navigation menu for you to get (ingame, no need to go to an external website), or can get it outside (and/or many other markers), you can download more here (also see instruction if you want to run only with taco): https://www.tekkitsworkshop.net/markers/gw2-taco-markers-installation-guide

Then place the .taco file inside the folder in the following location "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\Guild Wars 2\addons\blishhud\markers ".

Also you may find markers from users that share them, that don't contain a .taco file, and you want to use in blishud, such as this example for the "Lion's arch exterminator" achievement:

https://www.reddit.com/r/GW2TacO/comments/eazd7s/trail_and_markers_for_lions_arch_exterminator/

What you have to do then, is inside the folder you'll see two folders named "POIs" and "Data", extract them, and make a single .zip file with both, and place them in the route I mentioned before where the .taco files go.

**EXTRA TIP: the "all-in-one" pack already contains most of what you need. But there is another not so popular pack, made for speed-runners. You don't have to be a speedrunner to use it of course, but it will mark way faster and efficient routes for map completion/hero point than all in one pack does. I cannot suggest it enough, if you like the all-in-one pack, you'll absolutely adore this one, being incredibly faster and efficient:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/mnpm68/tehs_trails_map_completion_taco_pack/

***Blishud developer u/Freesn0w added three links about Blishud for those interested:

https://new.blishhud.com/modules/ here you can check most modules available to see what they offer. https://link.blishhud.com/discordhelp In case you need help using it or run into any problems and https://new.blishhud.com/docs/user/troubleshooting/853 to fix performance issues (unlikely to happen)

Speedometer. Self explanatory. Check the speed you get from running with your griffon or flying with your beetle (has blishud integration as well):

https://github.com/killer415tv/gw2_speedometer

**There are other more obscure addons, or not so obscure (ARCdps) that you can install separately from blishud.

................................................................... BUILDS ...................................................................

*NOTE: There is not a "best of them all" sites for builds. Each one has a different target audience and serves different purposes. For example, snowcrows is more aimed at "hardcore" builds, with well prepared teams providing aclarity, swiftness, boons and conditions to bosses for them to work properly (some builds there directly won't work without such boons and conditions), where other sites such as metabattle is for a "wider audience" with builds that will work alright everywhere for all players. That said! You'll find good builds for every content in every site, good instanced pve in metabattle and good open world in snowcrows. This is an "overall feeling I've read from community members and youtubers".

Ideal for more casual players for it's majority. Specially good builds for open world and pvp (check ratings and comments, there might be a few outdated builds, but overall its a good site):

https://metabattle.com/wiki/MetaBattle_Wiki

Aimed for more dedicated players, looking for high efficient builds for instanced pve (raids, dungeons, fractals):

https://snowcrows.com/en/home

This is an all around good site for everything:

https://hardstuck.gg/gw2/builds/

This is laser focused on fractals, there are builds for efficient fractal farming and guides

https://discretize.eu/builds/

u/Corley11two suggested this website: https://gw2mists.com/ Contains builds exclusively for WvW. Also has a lot of information, all related to WvW, such as guilds, leaderboard, map radar and more!

u/CalamityClambake suggested https://guildjen.com/builds/ This site offers way more than builds, but the builds are very beginner friendly and very effective. Also well explained and with a video to showcase them, with build and gear variants to be more flexible as well.

.............................................................. CONTENT CREATORS ..............................................................

Almost all of the linked below, have videos and guides with a wide variety of content, but I'll add a brief description for each of them (still, most will also have many other types of content).

https://www.youtube.com/@abree107 - A pure gold channel (heh) Farming, crafting, investing etc

https://www.youtube.com/@Kyosika - Characters related guides, builds, tips and tricks.

https://www.youtube.com/@MindOverMeta - Character related, builds and how-to for each of them

https://www.youtube.com/@Laranity - General tips, gearing, features, guides, analysis and entertainment

https://www.youtube.com/@MightyTeapot - Veteran streamer. General knowledge, great for beginners with also advanced tips

https://www.youtube.com/@CommonTate - Collection/achievement/fractal/raids complete guides, use this one to unlock mounts, masteries and learn about events and zone resources

https://www.youtube.com/@AyinMaiden - Generally short videos about unlocking achievements or get specific items/weapons/gear

I initially added these 7, because I watched multiple guides from all of them and can help players as an extra resource, such as everything else mentioned in this post. I'm sure there are many more, and this list will expand as users comment about them.

u/Forbearance88 suggested two:

Mukluk - For low intensity high efficient builds, PvP guides and miscellaneous content.

https://www.youtube.com/@MaselMMO - For beginner easy builds and how to use them

u/shinitakunai suggested https://www.youtube.com/@TiffyMissWiffy for achievement, missions mastery points and more guides

u/Superfind suggested https://www.youtube.com/@Vallun/playlists that contains a lot of builds for all classes and gamemodes (pve & pvp), explaining the items, rotations and adding commented gameplay with them (lengthy in depth guides). Also raid training.

u/MiffedMoogle suggested https://youtube.com/@LordHizen a channel focused on builds for open world and solo content

Inculpatus cedo suggested https://www.youtube.com/@WoodenPotatoes/videos Great for lore, and has play-throughs, guides, and much, much more.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

There is a tooooon of tools, websites, addons, guides, content creators and way more that I left out (such as sub-sections or functionalities of already mentioned websites). Maybe I don't know about them or are already inside a website I shared. I think some user may enlighten us with more interesting resources, I encourage you to share them in a comment, and I'll add those to this post (I will instantly update reddit, and here on GW2 forums in batches of new info, so it will still be updated, maybe not at the same time as the reddit post).
