Iglesias was active early, singling and scoring a run in the second inning, hitting an RBI single in the third and adding a two-run single in the fourth. He later added another base hit in the seventh. Iglesias has gone an impressive 14-for-32 with six RBI and five runs scored in his return to the majors while primarily starting at second base against left-handed pitchers.

Hartwig underwent surgery Friday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and will be out six to eight weeks, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Hartwig made four appearances for the Mets this season but has spent most of his time at Triple-A Syracuse, where he's logged a 2.31 ERA across 23.1 innings. He'll be sidelined until at least August as he recovers from the torn meniscus.

Alvarez opened the second inning with a 420-foot solo home run off Shota Imanaga then walked in the fourth and ninth frames. The homer was Alvarez's first since returning from a thumb injury June 11, and he has eight hits and five RBI during a modest four-game hitting streak. On the season, Alvarez is slashing .271/.319/.400 with two home runs and 15 RBI in 91 plate appearances.

Nimmo was active early, walking and scoring a run in the first inning and hitting a two-run home run in the second. He then singled and scored again in the fourth frame. Since moving to second in the lineup June 13, Nimmo has five multi-hit games, three home runs, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored. On the season, he is now slashing .244/.359/.424 with 10 homers, 42 RBI and 45 runs scored through 309 plate appearances.

Martinez opened the scoring with a three-run home run off Shota Imanaga in the first inning, and he then added an RBI single in the fourth. Martinez went 1-for-10 in a quiet series against the Rangers earlier this week but continued a nice June, as he's now hitting .297 with four home runs and 17 RBI in 64 at-bats. Mets' Jose Quintana: Strikes out eight in win

Quintana (3-5) earned the win against the Cubs on Friday, allowing one (unearned) run on four hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over 6.1 innings.
Quintana allowed an unearned run in the first inning but cruised from there with plenty of run support, as the Mets scored 11 runs in the first four frames. Quintana surpassed last week's season-high six strikeouts with eight on Friday and registered his second consecutive victory. On the season, Quintana owns a 4.58 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 58:26 K:BB over 78.2 innings and tentatively lines up to face the Astros next week.

Mets' Duke Ellis: Claimed by Mets

The Mets claimed Ellis off waivers from the White Sox on Friday and optioned him to Double-A Binghamton, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Ellis got a cup of coffee with the White Sox this season and has slashed just .258/.341/.308 at the Double-A level, which is especially underwhelming when you consider his age (26). He's fast and can play defense, though, which was enough to pique the Mets' interest.

Mets' Kodai Senga: Could face hitters soon

Senga (shoulder/triceps) threw another bullpen session Wednesday, and manager Carlos Mendoza said afterward that the right-hander's next step could be facing hitters in live batting practice, Julian Guilarte of SI.com reports.
The Mets will likely re-evaluate Senga on Thursday and Friday, but if he feels fine physically coming out of his latest bullpen session, expect him to gain clearance to face hitters. Senga has been on the injured list all season, first because of a right posterior shoulder capsule strain before he experienced right triceps inflammation in late May.
